Saunder's history show that the children of Thomas and 1st wife Jane as being: Jane, Maria (Mary), Ellen (Eleanor), Elizabeth, Sara, Thomas, Johannah and Catherine Ann. Records show that Thomas and 2nd wife Sarah Daley and no issue. In December 199 3, I (Faye Bertrand) received some extracts from the Mothel & Dysart Church of Ireland, Parish Register, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland which includes 1816 Census returns, Baptismal and Marraiages (1811-1836). It shows the following items: (1) Marriag e 3 Mar 1818 of Mary (not Maria) Saunders to John Lett. (2) Baptized 2 Jun 1813, Catherine, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Saunders of Knockalane (My Catherine married to Thomas Leach). (3) Baptized 13 Apr 1820, DEBORAH, daughter of Thomas and SARA H Saunders of Knocklane. (She does not show up on Saunders histories, but the name Deborah is shown in later generations...maybe she died young). Info from bb236@freenet.carleton.ca Karen Leach, 15 Lambert Dr., Nepean, ON K2H 5Y3 (Medical):Thoma s is said to be resting in the Franktown, Ont. Cemetery, but I can find no exact location in any recorded Cemetery Books. Nor can I find a resting place for Jane Saunders or Sarah Daley. I firmly believe that Jane died and is buried in Ireland, tha t it was Thomas and Sarah Daley and children that came to Canada. I also believe that Sarah is buried in the same place as Thomas and also in the same place as Thomas's daughter Mary Lett who died 2 Oct 1845, just 6 months after her father |
