Th e railway fence had been destroyed by fire, and the cattle strayed on the track. The Company will pay for them.</p><p><br>The Orillia Packet, May 16, 1901- COLDWATER- The Planet says:- Mr. Thomas Lovering was unfortunate enough t o lose two cows on Saturday. The fence along the track had been burned, and the cows ventured on just as a double header came along. The result was one cow killed and another so badly injured that it had to be killed. The Grand Trunk will have to f oot the bill.</p><p><br>DITTO- There are two cases of smallpox in Coldwater both sons of Mr. Thos. Lovering. How they got the infection, the Packet has not heard. A close quarantine of the house is maintained, and any spread of th e disease is unlikely. There is also a fresh case in the Township of Tay, near Victoria Harbour, the victim being a man named Webb.</p></line></content></metadataxml>
